al-Hamdu liLlah good news

Turns out the parents of my students were talking to a friend of mine and they told her how much they love having me as their child's teacher. She told me that it was a couple of the parents that were talking to her, and that they were saying that I give a lot of attention to each student and to their parents and that they like that. al-Hamdu liLlah.

I wasn't expecting that, I've only been teaching full time for a little over a week and the one thing I felt I lacked the most was the amount of attention I wanted to give to each student... so those words were a pleasant surprise.

al-Hamdu liLlah the office told me I will have my very own teachers assistant starting Monday, al-Hamdu liLlah! I want to make sure every single student gets full attention, in sha' Allah.

I've been working a lot with the high frequency words. Everyday I add a new word under the apple tree, and every day we read them in mixed up order. One parent after class told me that her daughter cannot read and she would really love for me to help her with that. I told her to hold on and I gave her daughter the apple stick and told her to read those words under the tree, she read them quickly and with ease! Her mother was pleasantly surprised, so al-Hamdu liLlah, just wait until the end of the year, her daughter in sha' Allah will be reading books with comprehension and speed! in sha' Allah.

Anyways, I'm glad a teachers assistant will be coming, right now I have spotted three students that need a boost in motivation! Perhaps, I'll buy some special pencils that make you smarter and do your work better. At that age the children have quite an imagination, one child made me laugh when she zipped open her bag to tell her teddy bear good bye. -smiles- CUTE!
