subHan Allah, I strongly believe now more than ever that school work is a "work" and not only that, but it must be "`ibadah"... it's sadaqah jariya.

Here's something interesting I read today:

It is mentioned in a Hadith qudsi narrated by Bukhari and Muslim that "whosoever intends to do good deeds and couldn't do it Allah s.w.t. gives one complete reward for his firm intention, and if he intends to do good deed and does that Allah gives him from ten rewards up to seven hundred rewards, and Allah even gives many fold increase (depending on the intention). On the other hand if someone intends to commit a sin and he doesn't do it Allah grants one complete reward (for not committing it), and if he intends and then does that Allah counts only one sin."

Moreover, Rasullullah s.a.w. said: "when a person dies the reward of his actions also ends but there are three things the reward of which continues even after death, firstly the continued sadaqah, secondly, that knowledge from which others continue to benefit and thirdly chaste and righteous offspring who may pray for him after his death. In the above tradition "the reward of his action also ends" means that after his death he no longer remains capable of doing any act to earn credit but how Merciful and Benevolent Almight Allah is that He has provided means to get credit even after death for good deeds.

The Prophet s.a.w. described three things in the above traditions: sadaqah jariya, knowledge, and offspring.

subHan Allah, ... Allah is so Merciful, al-Hamdu liLlah... wa la illaha illa Allah, wa Allahu akbar!
