Good Reminders

Bukhari and Muslim narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

“A man used to lend money to people, and he used to say to his servant, 'When you come to one who is in difficulty, let him off, perhaps Allah will let us off.' And when he met Allah, Allah let him off.” [Mishkaat al-Masaabeeh, 2/108, hadith no. 2899.]

"The believer gets along with people and they feel comfortable with him. There is no goodness in the one who does not get along with people and with whom they do not feel comfortable. " [Reported by Abmad and al-Bazar; the men of Ahmad's isnad are rijal as-sahih]

The true Muslim is forgiving towards his brother, purely for the sake of Allah. He hopes thereby to earn the honor which the Prophet, sallallahu` alayhi wa sallam referred to in the hadith:

"Allah will not increase His servant except in honor. No one humbles himself for the sake of Allah, but Allah will raise his status." (Muslim)

The Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam, used to supplicate - and he, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam was most frequent in making du`aa – “Yaa muqallibal quloobi thabbit qalbee `alaa deenik [O Turner of the hearts, keep my heart firm to Your religion] [Saheeh at-Tirmidhee 3:177].”

So from among the causes of evil end is that one listens to the truth for the first time and does not say “Sami`naa wa at.a`naa” [We hear and we obey], but rather remains upon his sins and persists in his disobedience.

Allah disposes of everything as He wills, and commands as He wills:

لَا يُسْأَلُ عَمَّا يَفْعَلُ وَهُمْ يُسْأَلُونَ

Lā yus'alu `ammā yaf`alu wa hum yus'alūna.
[Prophets 21: 23]	He cannot be questioned as to what He does, while they will be questioned.
